Objective of the organisation

To uplift the socio- economic condition of rural and urban poor women belonging to SC, ST, OBC & Other categories by providing them vocational training , formation of SHGs, health & educational programs.



BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ORGANISATION

 

Introduction:-

‘The Society For Scheduled And Backwards’ (SFSAB) J&K, Jammu a registered, Charitable, Non-Profit Making, Non-Governmental Volunteer Organisation (NGO) registered under the Registration act 1998 (1941-AD) vid Registration No. 3547-S of 2000 DT 13-10-2000. The Society For Scheduled And Backwards (SFSAB) office of the organization has been establishment at Ambedkar Nagar, High Court Road, Janipur, Jammu- 180007.

Tariq Mirza, General Secretary of the said organization having expert/able team dealing with Engineering Section, Account Section, Law Section Manufacturing Products, Medicinal Plants, Flowers etc comprising more than 10 members of staff is leading the expertise of the volunteers in the building / development / welfare and raising socio economic status of the masses since its establishment i.e. year 2000.

The Society has vast experience of more than 20 years in working on different projects. The Society has involved more than 2 lakh artisans in J&K State who are made aware on different projects of Rural Sanitation, Education of Rural people the importance of water & sanation. Our Organisation (The Society For Scheduled And Backwards-SFSAB) having a vast experience regarding social action for the welfare of masses for more than one decade and achieving results for such type of programmes viz IEC for awareness in different fields since the registration of the organisation, the organisation has trained more than 3000 artisans in handicrafts trades in the twin Districts of Rajouri & Poonch which were sponsored and assisted by ‘Ministry of Textiles’, Govt. of India under AHVY (Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojna). AHVY has multiple phases & society made efforts in achieving the results i.e. ‘Base Line Survey’, ‘Formation of SHGs’, organised training for semi skilled artisans, organised Design, Technical Development Workshops & Exhibitions within J&K state & other states of the India. All aforesaid phases were completed satisfactorily under the guidance of concerned officials.

Thus The Society For Scheduled And Backwards (SFSAB) has capability and experienced enought to organize & supervise/complete such type of result oriented programmes efficiently. The Society For Scheduled And Backwards (SFSAB) has framed an able team of experts of social workers in various fields like education, agriculture, power, health, artisans’ empowerment etc. SFSAB has satisfactory conducted job oriented training programme in J&K State and succeeded in providing job for them.

Since the Organisation has trained more than 3000 artisans in various crafts in the field of Handicrafts in the border borne districts of Rajouri & Poonch with the help of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), New Delhi.

  1. The  Society  got  insured  the needy artisans  with the ICICI Lombard General Insurances under ‘Rajiv Gandhi Bima Yojna’. Some artisans had also got claims against Medical / Accidental / Death Insurance for Rs 15,000/- Rs 1,00,000/- Rs 60,000/- respectively at the annual premium of Rs.100/-.
  2. Organisation has acquired a lot of experience in organising Exhibitions, Seminars, Craft Bazaars, Eye-Camps, Anti Drug Addiction Camps, Family Counselling Centre’s & other welfare workshops/ seminars.
  3. Legal awareness programmes for the women/ destitute.
  4. Organised Medical awareness camps etc. as reflected in the Annual Reports of the organisation.
  5. Awareness Camps for the ecological & forest in J&K State.
  6. Organised a continued program on PC/PNDT sanctioned by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi in the Border District of Rajouri, J&K successfully through audio visual aids, posters, banners, kiosks, hoardings, wall paintings, rallies, organising sensitization workshops for student community.
  7. The message ‘Save the Girl Child’ was spreaded by the organisation depicting issues related to ‘Girl Child’ in the schools etc. on regular basis to educate the prospective parents through religious preachers/ leaders/ intellectuals and social organisation.
  8. Department of Field Publicity, Govt. of India has also undertaken/ involved the services of the organisation for conducting IEC activities in the various subjects/ fields.
  9. Organisation has successfully accomplished the NRDWP flagship program with CCDU. Awareness about the Safe Drinking Water, Sanitation & Hygiene practices at grass root level was generated amongst masses.
  10. Organisation has recently achieved the target of construction of IHHL & Community Based Toilets under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM)

 The Society for Scheduled & Backwards, Regd., is the only organisation in J&K State who has acquired the target in completing the project.

  1. Organisation has conducted 600 Gram Sabha programmes and about 100 VWSC programmes in the mentioned districts aiming at the IEC & HRD for capacity building of Village Sanitation, members and other Stake Holders including the representatives from PHE, Rural Development, Education, Social, Social Welfare & Health. 
  2. Information Education & Communications Department (IEC) programme of CCDU J&K. IEC in SWACHH BHARAT MISSION J&K was completed successfully.
  3. Organisation has trained more than 250 farmers in the Rural Sanitation.
  4. Organised Awareness Camps for the Integrated Child Protection Society.
  5. Organisation is successfully implementing /accomplishing the BIO-GAS Project under the GOBAR-DHAN Scheme through Rural Development Department, J&K Govt.

Organisation Philosophy :

 

The main motive of the organisation is to provide better advantage in the field of textiles, agricultural, health assistance & care to the needy persons & to serve the under privileged, submersed, illiterate & Below Poverty Line (BPL) of the entire area through organising them in various self help group for the betterment.
